Subject: RE: MW CORRECTIONS ON VENEZUELAN STATIONS

One hint:

On 4508.70 there exists a new bolivian station giving ID "Radioemisoras
San Joaquim(n)" and obviously located in a city with the same name in
the Beni department. The station seems to sign on around UTC 22.50.
Noted for the first time in the middle of february.

                          ****

3265.1v SUMATERA: RRI Bengkulu has suddenly begun wandering from
normally stable 3264.85: surprised to find it still fairly good at 2305
on 3265.15 at 2305 (//3395.12) with Jak news, drifted briefly to
3265.10, back up 500 Hz, then sudden drop to 3264.9 at 2315 and
eventually stablizing on 3265.0 as audio finally dropped out after 2320,
lengthy Jak relay still in progress. Geomag. conditions had altered from
quiet to active in the course of this day. Strangely, however, signals
were superior on a NW Beverage as compared with the usually best
afternoon longpath SE Beverage. Feb 19 (DMC)

3295.35 KALIMANTAN: RRI Samarinda on this new channel (per David Foster
in Jan-Feb/94 OZDX) as noted with rapidly improving carrier at 1140 and
into audio by 1145 music and YL/OM pgme announcers. Flute-like interlude
or station theme following possible ID anmt at 1157, then into SCI at
1159 and 1200 Jak news by YL to 1212 anthem. Signal peaked briefly to
fair level 1155-1205 but almost gone by 1212 as the whole 90mb died
right at SR. I would suspect at least 10 kW. Feb 20 (DMC)

3395.12 SUMATERA: RRI Tanjung Karang, a star performer on this good
Sumatran afternoon - still very strong at 2255 with organ music, YL
vocal and YL announcer with ID before SCI. Jak relay still in progress,
fair at 2310 but audio dropped down quickly by 2315. Feb 19 (DMC)

4925 SUMATERA: RRI Jambi very good strong at 2246 tune-in with
domestic vocal by OM; another EZL vocal at 2251. Still good with OM
ahead of SCI at 2259 but badly QRM'd after 2300. RRI Medan-4765.85
off-air but presumed Medan w/carrier only on 3375.7. Feb 19 (DMC)

5040 SUMATERA: RRI Pekanbaru with very weak SCI at 2259, peaking poor
to fair briefly circa 2305 with Jak news, audio gone by 2310. RRI
Pekanbaru-4003.2 peaked to fair level thru hams at 2305 as well. Feb 20
(DMC)

5987.62 SULAWESI: RRI Manado (now here replacing missing 3214.8) fair at
1135 w/instrumental music thru heavy adjacent QRM, same during 1200 Jak
news but improving to good level for anthem at 1212 and OM local ID,
then lagu vocals at 1214+. Five mins of canned promo's and sound effects
at 1230, OM talk to 1240, then back to music as signal improved to
outstanding level and QRM abatted. Rather poor level for 1300 Jak news
but then back strong w/anthem and studio OM with local ID at 1308,
followed by apparent radio play cont'g past 1345 with very solid
signals. Good still at 1410 retune with lagu vocals and finally dropped
down to weak level by 1425. Feb 20 (DMC)
