RELAMPAGO DX (exerpts from No. 50)

4441.23 Radio Ecologia Internacional; When I visited Radio
Movima in Santa Ana del Yacuma, on 20/09/93, Sra. Mavis Serrano,
the owner of the station, informed me that Radio Ecologia
Internacional in San Matias (4441) & Radio Santa Rosa (4420) have
been operated by "Serrano" family. As I wanted to make contact
with the new CP outlet, Radio Ecologia Internacional, I asked her
how I could call to them. Then she invited me to use the ":Radio
Serrano" (the utility station network for public communication,
was founded by Don Ruben Dario Serrano, ex-owner of Radio
Movima). After 30 minutes calling up San Matias station, finally
I could contact with Sr. Jose Vaca Diez Justiniano, the
owner/director of Radio Ecologia Internacional. He seemed quite
happy with a great surprise to receive a radio-call from Japanese
DXer, and he allowed me to ask him some questions about the
station. Radio Ecologia Internacional was inaugurated on March 5,
1993, as a first radio station in San Matias. The station
broadcasts on 4440 kHz (nominal frequency) with a "HUCARR" brand
transmitter (300 W output power) & a half wave dipole antenna.
The "HUCARR" is famous broadcasting equipment brand in El Alto de
La Paz, and was founded by a bolivian technician, Sr. Humberto
Carrizal. The majority of the new SW station in bolivian Amazon
Basin use the "HUCARR"brand transmitter, for example: R.11 de
Octubre (4183.4), R.Eco (4409.1), R.Estacion Frontera (4449.9),
R.Hitachi (4530.1), R.Perla del Acre (4600.1), R.San Ignacio
(4901.0), etc. As of September 93, the CP outlet is operated at
1215-1700 & 2100-2400 daily. When they have a lot of music
requests with "saludos" from audiences for the evening
transmission, the station extends it until 0100 or sometimes
until 0200. He said me that he had received some reports from
listeners abroad, and he sent them QSL letter with a map which
mentioned the station site. Anyone already received it? QTH:
Calle Bolivar No.30, San Matias, Provincia Angel Sandoval,
Departamento de Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

4903.87 La Palabra; This misterious CP station was discovered
by Henrik Klemetz for the fiest time. According to his personal
letter dated on 14/04/93, he has been noted this outlet since
26/01/93. I also heard this one in Trinidad at 2030-2300 on
12/03/93, and I misconfirmed the broadcasting site as San Ignacio
de Moxos, but it was my great err. After the HK advised me kindly
that the station seemed to be Santa Ana de Yacuma, so I decided
to take a "avioneta" from Trinidad to Santa Ana de Yacuma. The
trip took about 45 minutes, and the fare was 70 Bolivianos (US$
16). In the first place I have mention the correct station name,
it is simply "La Palabra", however the station has been
identified as "Radio La Palabra", "Ondas de La Palabra" or "Emisora
La Palabra". I had a brief interview with the founder/director,
Padre Yosu Arketa who is the father of Catholic Church. The
station was established officialy on January 1, 1993. They are
using a tiny transmitter with 100 W output power (maximum) & a
half wave dipole antenna (10 meter high). The nominal frequency
is 4903 kHz. The slogan is "La Palabra, paz y bien para todos
vuestros hogares" as the same as the slogan of Radio Caritas
(Asuncion, Paraguay), because Padre Yosu Arketa had been the
director of Radio Caritas until 1962. Sked: 1200-1800 & 2100-0045
(Sun 1200-1345 & 2300-0045).

Subject: Radio Nacional -- Tacna?

I have heard Radio Nacional del peru on 6095. I have heard
them a couple of times signing on around 1100 UTC, but
reception was "best" (though still not very good) on Sunday UTC,
Oct. 31, to 0457 UTC closedown. A few others have also reported
hearing this, but they are reporting it as Lima rather than Tacna,
probably because the frequency is close to the old Radio Nacional
Lima channel of 6082.5. Are you certain that it is Tacna?

Radio Huanta 2000 was noted on 4,755 kHz around 1000 UTC last
week by Hans Johnson in Maryland, however, I heard them back on
usual 4,747 kHz this morning.

Can you tell if LV del Alto Mayo (Peru) on 6,137.4 kHz is still
on the air (around 0930-1000 UTC) or Radio Marargue (Argentina) on
6,160.7 kHz at *0958?

Rich D'Angelo
