THE WORLD'S ONLY PINBALL SHOWCASE! Make plans now to attend the most exciting show of the year dedicated exclusively to the pinball industry. This year will mark Pinball Expo's 9th anniversary and with that comes another tremendous program sure to please all in attendance. As in the past, attendees will have the privilege of witnessing the complete manufacture and assembly of a pinball machine. This year should be a very special event for all showgoers as we will be touring the Alvin G & Company pinball manufacturing facility for the first time. This young and promising company, which traces its roots to tthe former D. Gottlieb & Co, brings a new and dynamic impact to this fine industry. Not only will attendees witness the operations of this company, but we will also feature their game in our annual Flip Out pinball tournament... [lots more hype omitted] PINBALL EXPO 93 ART CONTEST The Pinball Art Show will be held in conjunction with this year's Pinball Expo. The approach will be that of a county fair art/craft show with ribbons, honorable mentions, and Best of Show awards. All work will be on display in the exhibit hall, ensuring plenty of exposure. Our goal is to have fun and display the considerable talent which our attendees have - so bring out your pinball drawings, pictures, models, etc. All attendees and their families are encouraged to participate in any (or all) of the categories listed below. (All participants aged 16 and under will be placed in the Youth Division and judged accordingly.) While every effort will be made to protect your entry, it must be noted that no insurance will be available. A display card will be provided for each entry noting the artist, category, and selling price if you wish to sell your work (All sales are between artist and buyer only). Your work shall remain on display throughout the Expo with removal to be made between 2-4 pm on Sunday. All entries _must_ have a pinball theme and awards will be presented Saturday evening at the banquet. CATEGORIES Photographs Drawings, Paintings, Cartoons, Etc T-Shirts Clothing (ties, socks, pants, etc) Jewelry Needlework Collage Sculpture Fantasy Pinball Machine Most Unusual Representation of Pinball All work must be original and/or a limited edition and ready for hanging or display. There is no entry fee in either the adult or youth division, so enter as many categories as you wish. [You must enter by September 1, 1993 - call Expo HQ for details!] 1993 PINBALL EXPO SOUVENIR GUIDE The Pinball Expo 93 Souvenir Guide will be published for distribution at the show. This guide gives coin-operated machine manufacturers, operators, suppliers, and related services an opportunity to create sales and establish new accounts. Guide will include: A listing of all current coin-op publications & addresses A listing of all pniball manufacturers, addresses & service numbers A listing of all exhibitors as of publication date And much much more... Souvenir Guides will be given free to all paid attendees. RESTORATION CONTEST This year's Expo will feature a contest to determine who has the best restored pinball machine. The machine must be mechanical and in full working order. Detail is a must in this competition, as judges will be looking closely at playfield, cabinet, and backglass artwork. The interior of the game as well as the condition or reconditioning of the hardware will also be inspected closely. This is a chance to show your true skills and possibly collect the $50 prize for best restored game. BRING YOUR GAMES TO THE EXPO We will be offering a $5/game rebate for those that bring a pinball machine for Expo attendees to play. The machine must be in good working order and appearance, and must remain at the show until the show closes at 4pm on Sunday. This offer is limited to the first 100 machines brought in during setup Thursday 9am-5pm. We ask that these machines be only for the attendees to play and not for sale. Please contact exhibits chairman Mike Pacak if you plan to take advantage of this offer.
