On Solaris login will ask everytime for username before password, even
if you specify a username with the telnet -l option

tjh notes:

telnet -K host 
    - should always prompt for the USER's name rather than auto-sending it
    but this doesn't appear to be working correctly ... need to go 
    through this code and see what's happening 
    - probably should have compile time option to take this "feature" out
    for those that don't like it!

On Aix telnetd will sometimes echo the password on the screen. I think
it's a not initialized variable which I haven't found.
