Under the brand name Regiobahn two different but linked railway companies operate. The first one is the Regionale Bahngesellschaft
Kaarst-Neuss-Düsseldorf-Erkrath-Mettmann-Wuppertal mbH which is the owner and caretaker of the tracks of the cities of Düsseldorf, Kaarst
and Wuppertal and the regions of Neuss and Mettmann. Then there is the Regiobahn Fahrbetriebsgesellschaft mbH which runs train traffic
on the S28 and RE47 train lines under a contract of the local VRR, Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr, which is the ordering authority buying
the traffic. These companies are closely related with the Transdev group and the trains currently used are diesel railbuses which were
previously used by Transdev's Bayerische Oberlandbahn BOB. These trains are of the type Integral S5 D95 built by Integral Verkehrstechnik AG.
BOB bought them in 1998 but they remained a very seldomly seen small train type built by a very small East German company which soon
ceased to exist. For more pictures of these Integral trains, see the section Germany / Transdev group of companies in this train pictures archive.

Busy time at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof and people are rushing out of an Integral train coming from Mettmann. It has already a long time been
planned that this whole S28 train line should be electrified but so far the cities and regions owning the infrastructure haven't had
enough money to pay for it.
