Dear LaboImage User,

To compile LaboImage 4.0, please invoke the following operations:

1) Change directory to "xxx/distribution".

2) edit the Makefile in order to set the two environment variables X11HOME
   and MOTIFHOME.

3) type the following commands:

	> make depend
	> make

The executable code will be called "LaboImage" and will be placed in
   "/xxx/distribution/Laboimage" directory.

(P.S. an executable file is already done for Sun SPARC station).

To run LaboImage 4.0:

1) Define the environment variable:
LABOIMAGE, as the path leading to the "help" directory (e.g. type
"setenv LABOIMAGE /xxx/distribution/Laboimage" if the path to the
	"help" directory is "/xxx/distribution/Laboimage/help").

2) type "LaboImage" in /xxx/distribution/Laboimage" directory.

The files in the directory containing this README are:

	"LaboImage_4_0.pub"	the original notice for LaboImage;
				please read it.
"92SPIE_LaboImage.ps"	the paper presented at the 92' SPIE Symposium
on Electronic Imaging Science and Technology.
"format.description"	a description of the image format.
"ReadImage.txt" a description of how to read images into LaboImage.
"vision.txt" a presentation of the Computer Vision Group
				at the University of Geneva.

Some images are in the directory "xxx/distribution/images".
