1. What is xgod ?

xgod is an X11 program that can be used to create Go diagrams for LaTeX
documents. With just a few mouse clicks you can generate a diagram of the
whole Go board or just a part of it, with numbered stones (from 1 to 49),
plain black and white stones, letters or other symbols frequently used in Go
papers.

2. What are the system requirements ?

xgod was written and tested on a i486 machine running Slackware Linux 3.0.
Before installing xgod you need to get the xforms library and the package
ntf-go with Go fonts and macros for LaTeX (see the files xgod.txt and
ntf-go.txt for details on where to get them).

3. Installation

- untar the archive as root

- if necessary, edit the file main.h and change BITMAPPATH and TEXTPATH to
match the directories containing the bitmaps and text files.

- type "make". The executable "xgod" will be created.

- type "make install". A soft link to xgod will be created in /usr/local/bin
and the bitmaps and text files will be copied to /usr/local/games/xgod by
defalut. To change this directory you should edit the Makefile and the file
main.h and then reinstall.

4. An example

The file example.go was created with xgod. It is then included in the file
example.tex and the result of processing this file with latex can be seen
in example.dvi.
