openSUSE 10.2發行註解

安裝媒體

您可以在不同媒體中使用 openSUSE 10.2：

1 single layer DVD (DVD 5) containing the contents of the 5 CDs plus the contents of the Add-On with the binary packages plus support for a subset of languages.
1 dual layer DVD (DVD 9) with the same contents as the single layer DVD. In addition to the DVD 5, this DVD contains packages for the i386 and the x86_64 architecture.

For a default installation (including the KDE or GNOME desktop) in one of the following languages, you only need CDs 1-3: Czech, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Chinese.

CDs 4 and 5 contain further language packages (Polish, Danish, Hungarian, Dutch, Bokmaal, Finnish, and Khmer). Apart from even more languages, the Add-On CD also contains additional language packages for OpenOffice.org and and KOffice, spell checkers for various languages, specialized fonts, and tools for Korean and other Asian languages.

Find the PDF versions of the manuals on the DVD in the directory docu. Find the HTML version of the manuals in the following packages on the DVDs:

opensuse_manual (啟動、參考、KDE 使用者指南、AppArmor 管理指南) 與

Adding Extra Installation Sources During Installation

After setting up the update configuration at the end of the installation, YaST offers to add the following three installation sources, also called "catalogs":

「oss」目錄為完整的 FTP 分佈，包含比 CD 中可取得之更多的套件。
「非 oss」目錄包含含有專屬或非開啟來源授權的軟體。
The "debug" catalogs contains debuginfo packages useful for debugging programs and libraries and getting backtraces. If an error occurs, this additional information is handy for writing good bug reports.

The source RPMs for "oss" are available at http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/src-oss, the source RPMs for "non-oss" are available at http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/src-non-oss.

新的軟體管理工具：zypper 與 opensuseupdater

10.2 將介紹新的輕量軟體管理工具組，即使在未執行 ZENWorks 管理精靈 (ZMD) 的情況下也可使用：

zypper 指令行工具是一個軟體管理工具。除了由更新伺服器提供的管理更新，也可以安裝或解除安裝一般套件。在 zypper 線上文件中可以找到更多資訊。

Firefox 2 的變更

某些 Firefox 1.5 的主題與延伸無法使用於 Firefox 2.0，且必須更新。

cdrecord 套件已從分佈中刪除。新的 wodim 套件可用來在符合「橘皮書」標準的 CD 燒錄機中記錄資料或音訊 CD，或在 DVD 燒錄器中寫入 DVD 媒體。

也可使用 growisofs 寫入 DVD。圖形前端會直接處理這個作業。

OpenSync 同步化架構

其他語言的附加程式媒體

若您希望取得任一第 2 層語言的較佳支援，請將語言附加程式媒體加入安裝清單中。第 2 層語言為第 1 層語言 (英文、法文、德文、義大利文、西班牙文、巴西葡萄牙文、簡體與繁體中文、日文、與捷克文) 之外的所有語言。第 1 層語言的支援可在標準媒體集中取得。

當在安裝結尾註冊其他安裝來源時，您也可以取得其他語言的更佳支援。只要啟動要註冊之來源清單的第一個項目即可。

技術

標準核心

核心預設套件同時包括單處理器和多處理器系統的標準核心。核心提供 SMP 支援，並可以最低管理費用在單處理器系統上執行。不再提供 kernel-smp 套件。

新的預設檔案系統：ext3

YaST 分割器現在預設為使用 ext3 檔案系統建立新的檔案系統，取代 reiserfs。ext3 檔案系統以其和 ext2 檔案系統的反向相容性出名。

依預設，高效能目錄雜湊選項為啟用。此功能會使用雜湊的 b 網路樹來找出目錄項目。不需要讀取整個目錄，這將大幅加快在大型目錄中查詢的速度。雖然這不是建議項目，但管理員可以透過在 YaST 分割器中移除「dir_index」選項來停用此功能。

Setting Up LVM with YaST

Experts can now rely on YaST for configuring LVM (Logical Volume Manager). Find detailed information in the Reference manual, Chapter "Advanced Disk Setup".

智慧型磁碟監控精靈 (smartd)

智慧型磁碟監控精靈 (smartd) 現在也支援 SATA 硬碟但無「-d ata」切換。透過省電通知給予狀態通知。依預設，smartd 為未啟用。若要將其啟用，請啟動 YaST runlevel 編輯器 (「系統」->「系統服務」(Runlevel))，並核取 smartd 服務。

在一個系統中啟動多個 openSUSE 例項

若在一個機器上安裝多個 openSUSE 10.2 例項，且分割區 2 中的例項是從分割區 1 中的 GRUB 啟動，分割區 2 中分割區 1 裡 menu.lst 的項目應包含項目：

kernel /boot/vmlinuz

initrd /boot/initrd

代替

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18.2-23-default

initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.18.2-23-default

藉由此變更，更新分割區 2 中的核心是安全的，且系統仍可以從分割區 1 中開機。

前一次安裝中 MBR 留下的 GRUB 或 LILO

若您更新將 GRUB 或 LILO 寫入您磁碟之主開機記錄的較舊 SUSE Linux 安裝，則若有可能，現在將由一般 MBR 自動取代。

若 MBR 的 GRUB 或 LILO 不屬於您正重新安裝的分割區，或若您希望保持原有的行為，請變更 YaST 之開機載入程式位置的設定 (系統-> 開機載入程式 -> 開機載入程式安裝 -> 開機載入程式位置)。做為一台電腦之多個 Linux 系統的永久解決方案，我們建議使用載入主 GRUB 的一般 MBR 或類似之開機選擇器，可以從不同分割區中鏈結載入作業系統載入器。

Changing Boot Loader Location

Changes of the boot loader location in an already installed system are not detected by YaST and the script that re-installs the boot loader code is not executed. The workaround is to change the boot loader location, then select "Other" -> "Write bootloader boot code to disk" explicitly.
