HOW DO I KNOW THE INSTALLATION IS SUCCESSFUL?
========================================================================
In the rare case of an installation problem, you should see the
following message on the first screen (right after the welcome splash):

"Not Able To Access DB. Please Check README"

When the software is successfully installed and is able to communicate
with it's components you should see the following message on the first
screen (after the welcome splash):

"
SemSim Simulator
www.SemSim.com

Welcome to SemSim! This software provides a comprehensive educational
environment for mastering router configuration.
..."

========================================================================
I GET "Unable to Access Database" ERROR. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
========================================================================
Unless you moved files around after completing the installation, you
are getting this error probably due to missing components that SemSim
assumes are installed on your machine.

The following additional software is necessary to use SemSim:

* MDAC version 2.0 or above

The Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is a standard database
interface for Windows. MDAC is already included as part of:
* Windows 98
* Windows 2000
* Windows ME
* Windows XP
* Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher)
* Microsoft Office

However, some early Windows 98 OEM systems shipped without MDAC.

Windows 2000 ships with version 2.5, and Windows XP ships with version
2.7.If you have a Windows 95, 98 or Windows NT system, generally
installing version 2.5 or higher is preferred. Windows 95 users may
prefer MDAC 2.6. Later versions of MDAC do not work on Windows 95.

If you suspect you do not have MDAC or have a wrong version, run a small
Microsoft tool called Component Checker. You can download it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm#CCinfo

When running select the first option, i.e. 'Perform analysis of your
machine and automatically detect the release version'

If your system does not already have MDAC installed, you need to download
it and install it.

A Note For Windows 95 Users:
Windows 95 users are recommended Windows 95 Service Pack 1 from Microsoft.
You can get it at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/default.asp

DCOM for Windows 95 must be installed before installing MDAC on Windows 95.
You can download DCOM v1.3 for Windows 95 from Microsoft at:

http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom95/dcom1_3.asp

========================================================================
I GET "The Application encountered an error. Behavior maybe
unpredictable." ERROR. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
========================================================================
This generally serves as a warning. If SemSim is working seemingly
correctly after this, there should be no problem. The purpose is just to
warn our technical team of an inappropriate optimization or a potential
problem. Help us further improve SemSim by informing our technical staff
of the error at support@semsim.com. Please include the following:

* Contents of ErrorLog.txt
* The OS you are running on (i.e. Windows 98, NT 4.0, etc.)..
* Detailed description of the problem.
* Detailed steps to reproduce the problem, if possible.
* The version of the product you are using.
